STORMWATER MAINTENANCE AND CONSULTING PRESIDENT WINS ENGINEERING AWARD
BALTIMORE, MD – February 4, 2013 – Jennifer Rauhofer, PE, president of Stormwater Maintenance and Consulting – an organization specializing in the design, maintenance, and construction of stormwater infrastructure – has been honored with The Penn State Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award.
The award recognizes graduates who have reached exceptional levels of professional achievement and is the highest honor bestowed by the College of Engineering. Winners of this award are also role models for current engineering students.
“The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering feels that Ms. Rauhofer is well deserving of the Outstanding Engineering Alumnus award because she brings an excellent resume of professional experience in the natural resource engineering area, and reflects well on the ABE programs from which she graduated,” said Paul Heinemann, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University.
Continued Heinemann, “Her recognition and visit to the department will provide an inspiration to the current students, particularly in that she has risen to the level of company ownership in a relatively short period of time.”
“With only 13 individuals honored this year, we are extremely proud that Jennifer is a recipient of this prestigious award,” said Stormwater Maintenance and Consulting founder and executive vice president, Theodore Scott, PE, CPESC, LEED AP.
When determining winners, judges look at nominees who have a record of professional achievements, which are widely recognized for their quality and significance. Nominations come from Penn State University department heads, who are responsible for the preparation of a nomination form and other appropriate documentation. Nominees are not contacted during the process.
The award will be presented to Rauhofer, along with the 12 other winners, at a ceremony in April 2013.
