Stormwater Maintenance offers annual maintenance contracts which usually includes inspections.
We also provide structured inspection programs intended to provide detailed documentation of existing facilities
as part of Due Diligence,
As-Built and other engineering-oriented purposes.
Facility Assessment
We start by researching public records to obtain plans of the facility and to determine the specific maintenance responsibilities
for your situation. We then perform a detailed inspection of the facility. Based on this, we assess the present condition and
make recommendations. If needed, we can develop a Maintenance and Repair Plan and preliminary budget. In cases where unusual
maintenance or major repairs are required, they can be included in the Maintenance and Repair Plan with a recommended schedule and
budget - or we can provide a formal proposal to perform the work. Depending upon the situation and your resources, repairs
can sometimes be scheduled over several years.
Following the Field Assessment we will meet with you or your representative to review our findings and a draft of the Maintenance
and Repair Plan. With your input, the Maintenance and Repair Plan is finalized. The final product can be provided in
a binder to facilitate insertion of all subsequent inspection, maintenance, and repair documentation.
Inspections
All inspections are performed by experienced and qualified inspectors experienced in facility design, construction
and troubleshooting.
- Bi-annual visual Inspections- A brief inspection usually performed prior to the bi-annual maintenance to identify unusual
items that our crews may be able to address when they arrive.
- Annual detailed evaluations- A detailed inspection using checklists from the
NCRS Maryland MD 378 Standards and Specifications
for Small Ponds is performed once a year. This inspection includes a thorough evaluation of condition and
an update of
the Maintenance and Repair Plan.
- Spot-check after significant storms- We spot-check facilities during or after large storm events throughout the year. These
inspections can be helpful in monitoring actual performance and evaluating potential serious problems such as seepage.
